I’m Adriana Antonia Artmeier. Originally hailing from Slovenia and raised in Germany, I made the decision to move to Melbourne (Australia) in 2016.

After all, what could be more inspiring than a land where even the smallest creatures are trying to kill you? The answer is - NOTHING!

Art has been my constant companion since my early childhood, sparked by days spent drawing with my grandmother. My technical evolution began in the monochrome worlds of graphite and charcoal before transitioning into coloured pencil portraits. 

In 2017, I finally dove headfirst into the realm of acrylics, which is still my main medium to this day.

I have always been drawn to the shadows. Rather than "playing it safe" with traditional aesthetics, my work explores the darker corners of the human experience, often paired with a sprinkle of dark humour and surrealism.

Through my paintings, I examine the complexities of our society, the heavy themes of trauma and lighter personal experiences. For me, art isn’t just about beauty; it’s about the courage to look at the things we often try to ignore.
